This has little to do with Chapelle or the Eric, but I was wondering if we really know how NG Herreshoff created his designs. The writings of LFH suggest he used models extensively. (Of course, he could could create any diagonal he wanted by laying a spline on the model.) I have trouble with the picture of NGH spending the hours necessary at the drawing board since he was the active supervisor of a large staff and a complicated building operation.
