I am starting to think about casting the lead ballast for my "Sovereign" even though it will likely be at least late 2008 before I am ready for it. What is the recomended method of embedding the bronze keel bolts in the lead. There are three methods that are commonly discussed. The first is casting the bolts in the keel at the time of the lead pour. The second is drilling and threading holes in the lead and and then screwing in the threaded bronze rod. The third is drilling a hole all the way through the lead with a countersink on the bottom of the keel for the bolt head.
