I also like the idea of drilling through the keel plank and into the keel. It does seem less likely to result in a misalignment problem. Doesn't Chapelle suggest drilling and tapping the holes for the keel bolts? I am not sure of the advantage of being able to remove individual keel bolts. I would think that if good quality bronze bolts are used it is unlikely there would be any problem for a very long time. I hope Tom weighs in on this question. Amos
