This biography of Thomas Cochrane the incredible hero of the British Navy will fascinate anyone interested in maritime history.  Not the least since he was the model for the hero of Patrick O’Brian’s  Aubry/Maturin novels, the best and most authentic of the series based on the lives of British naval officers.  If you are a fan of the O’Brian novels, you will love this book.
