Topsides Never Lie
by
Daniel MacNaughton
Altough this title sounds somewhat
philosophical, this article is the best simple explanation of how to
paint the topsides on a caulked seam carvel or other traditional
wooden boat, that I've ever found. The author is a lifelong
expert on boat painting and in this area has probably trained a good
percentage of the professional painters doing top work in the yards.
He knows every kind of painting from very traditional work to the
most high tech finishes. You can be sure that if you have a wooden boat to maintain, this will tell you what you need to know to keep the topsides looking really smart. Another important point is that this modest publication will keep you from making some really bad mistakes which we've seen people make over and over again in maintenance, resulting in much more work and even in some cases serious damage to the boat. You can avoid these pitfalls with this article. (4 pages) (tm) $10.00 |
