Penny

LOA 25’7" LWL 19'0" Beam 9’4" Draft 4’8" Displacement 10,500 lbs. Headroom 6'3"

At 25' Penny practically begs comparison with the famous Laurent Giles Vertue class a boat of the same length which we have owned, loved, and lived aboard. Compared to the Vertue, Penny is less expensive to construct because of her much simpler hull, deck and rig, and the absence of a cockpit well or cabin trunk. Penny also has much greater interior volume and deck space, a more easily handled rig, greater speed, and easier maintenance. Personally I really love the newest interior we have drawn, which has the option of an in port double berth and still has a good sized galley, navigation area, main cabin, inside control station, and forward storage cabin and head.  The original and to me much less interesting interior contains a forward storage area with hatch over, a stateroom with double berth and desk, an enclosed head, a chart table, a galley, and two quarter berths, plus the indoor/outdoor cockpit aft. Many other arrangements are possible. The most recent profile, not shown here yet, has a really nice pilot house for the steering and control station instead of the bubble canopy shown here.
